Stop Smoking TFT and EFT

Thought Field Therapy and Emotional Freedom Techniques have both been found to be successful in the area of smoking cessation and weight control for the control of cravings and craving related emotions.

Thought Field Therapy (TFT)

Thought Field Therapy(TFT) was discovered and developed by Dr Roger Callahan an American Clinical Psychologist with over 40 years experience.

The key to TFT’s extraordinary success has been Dr Callahan’s discovery and effective treatment for the phenomenon he named "Psychological Reversal" an unintentional form of self-sabotage. (The tendency for some individuals to unconsciously hold back their own recovery despite outwardly seeking to rid themselves of their problem).
TFT has its roots in and draw on concepts and methodologies from such fields as Chinese Medicine, Applied Kinesiology and Modern Science.

A TFT Treatment

In a typical treatment a person is asked to think of their problem/issue. When we think of a particular problem (such as a specific fear) we tune into an individual thought field. According to Dr Callahan’s theory, emotional problems are generated by negative information patterns in these thought fields, which he describes as “perturbations” (disruptions).
These disruptions have been found to be the generating power behind the emotional (and occasionally, physical) signs and symptoms recognized by conventional medicine.
The person is then asked to tap gently with two fingers in a specified sequence (algorithm) on acupressure points on the hands and upper body.
By tapping on the specified points the disruptions are cleared and as each disruption in the problem thought field is dealt with, the emotion/feeling experienced diminishes until it is no longer present. You can remember the problem, but experience no negative emotion.

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)

Emotional Freedom Techniques(EFT) was developed by Gary Craig after his extensive training in TFTwith Dr Callahan. Gary Craig built on his experience in TFT and developed his own comprehensive approach.
EFT is one of the new approaches in the area of energy psychology; it is a powerful non-invasive technique which can offer rapid relief to many psychological, emotional and some physical problems.

How does EFT work?

EFT has its roots in Chinese medicine (acupuncture, acupressure), Applied Kinesiology and emphasises and utilises the mind/body connection. EFT is based on what Gary Craig calls the discovery statement, which is "all negative emotion is caused by disruption in the bodies bio-energy system" (meridian system) and this disruption can have a profound effect on ones emotional and physical well being. This blockage or disruption can be easily addressed by gently tapping with two fingers on certain acupressure points on the hands and upper body, whilst thinking of or tuning into the presenting issue/emotion. By gently tapping on these points a person corrects the imbalance which in turn eliminates or neutralises the negative emotion or issue as many case history have shown.
